Eight of the drivers were involved in traffic crashes. So far this year, there have been 854 DUI arrests compared with 938 during the same period last year, a decrease of 9 percent.

There have been 905 major accidents so far this year compared with 985 during the same period last year, a decrease of 8.1 percent.

So far this year, police said there were 21 traffic fatalities compared with 25 during the same period last year, a decrease of 16 percent.

To date, 10 fatalities were related to drugs only (5), alcohol only (1), or a combination of both (4). DUI roadblocks and patrols will continue island wide, police said.
